It was 20 years ago when Lisa discovered her love of the outdoors and the adventures and community the mountain bike brings. She quickly learned that getting out on the trails was a great way to leave the stresses behind of her demanding work as a project manager for a real estate development firm. Through biking, she made lifelong friendships, developed a strong body and a strong mind, resulting in a level of strength and confidence that helped her to be successful in many areas of her life.
The love of mountain biking inspired Lisa to create a mountain bike race series called the Indie Series, the largest race series in the state of Washington. She also worked hard to help grow the sport of cyclocross as a part of Seattle Cyclcocross, now known as Cross Revolution. Through these experiences, Lisa learned just how much the bike builds community which led her to found the Washington Student Cycling League in 2010, to afford kids the opportunity to make friends, feel a sense of belonging and gain self confidence through positive outdoor experiences, at a much younger age as herself.
