We are super excited for the 2017 Washington Student Cycling League season, and are making a few changes to our race day so things flow even better. For instance, so many middle school boys that we needed to add a third race–what a great challenge to have! This schedule change required that we adjust our volunteer schedule a little bit. Volunteers for shift one will work for the varsity, junior varsity, and advanced middle school races (race 1, 10:00 a.m.) Shift two will work for the beginner and middle school girls (race 2, 12:30 p.m.) and middle school boys (race 3, 1:30 p.m.)
In order to give more people all across the state the opportunity to volunteer at our races, we will announce volunteer opportunities in waves. A week ahead of each race, families in the region where the race is held will be invited to sign up first. Then, a few days later, all families will be invited to sign up. After these first two waves, if we still have open volunteer spots, then the call will go out to the entire League to fill in the gaps. This new method should give more people the chance to volunteer when the race is closest to your team, get a wider variety of volunteers to enjoy the experience of seeing students race up close, and grow our community of volunteers overall.

Your time is a valuable donation
Our organization is volunteer driven! For each one of our races, we rely on about 75 volunteers and approximately 250 volunteer hours. With your help, we provide the safest mountain biking opportunities for our student-athletes and spectators.
You can help us on race weekend by helping set up the race course, assist with parking, help stage racers, announcing, or by course marshaling. We have positions for everyone! On the bike and off the bike volunteer positions are available.
Comments from recent volunteers:
We welcome you to join our community and have fun with us in the great outdoors while helping to empower our youth!
Many employers match the hours their employees give in volunteer service with dollars. Does yours?
